previous 8/10 next 10/10  Pitufi 1 - 1 Carpello (392987623)

Dark skies made the crowd of 715 at Parepall Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Anthony Addison was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Damiano Conte and Renaud Alibeau. Pitufi had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. Starters: Bramuzzo - Altenberger, Völzke, Annino, Ferraz - Buj, Leenaerts, Ragazzoni - Baselice, Roger, Di Martino.

Carpello started off with a 4-3-3 lineup. Lineup: Taverniti - Torluccio, Mulazzani, Sirigu, Brazo - Lucioni, Stievano, Lauri - Casaburi, Murru, Borselli.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Pitufi. J. Ferraz's lack of experience almost gave Carpello a goal after 6 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Pitufi had a good opportunity to take the lead as A. Altenberger came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of M. Taverniti. A. Borselli was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Carpello's defence 9 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 0 - 1. After 11 minutes, G. Ragazzoni made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. The referee showed Pitufi's X. Buj the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 29 minutes Pitufi's X. Buj limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Pitufi enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

Carpello's T. Murru could have put the guests one up after 47 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but G. Bramuzzo was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. With 67 minutes played, A. Roger of Pitufi fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 72 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Pitufi substitution. P. Deghenghi came on for A. Roger. Pitufi could have put themselves ahead after 72 minutes but W. Völzke missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. 75 minutes into the game, Pitufi wanted to bring some new energy to their game. G. Bramuzzo gave S. Tolino a quick hug as he left the field. R. Sagron was called on to replace Pitufi's A. Altenberger after 76 minutes following a nasty collision. W. Völzke of Pitufi received a yellow card after 78 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

The most dominating Pitufi player was without a doubt F. Di Martino. S. Tolino turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Carpello player was D. Casaburi. However, A. Borselli made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
