Mitxelena was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 8 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. M. Mitxelena received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 18 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. After 27 minutes, W. Brüsewitz sent the corner kick right to A. Rocchi who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 2! The visitors nearly scored again after 31 minutes, but a superb save by O. Ülküdeş kept W. Brüsewitz's free kick out of the net. After the ball was lifted in from the left, C. Costamagna was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 32 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Trecase claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

After 50 minutes of game time, R. Raunkjær had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but O. Ülküdeş was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. The intense heat forced V. Lazarević into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. The home crowd cheered when, after 85 minutes, W. Brüsewitz's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. patryot's K. Coenraads had a nice free kick routine after 86 minutes that was very close to paying off, had it not been for a dramatic save by the visitors' keeper. Trecase had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

patryot's best player was N. Boisio. On the other hand, F. Didier's play was disheartening. A. Obiol performed admirably for Trecase. G. Larocca was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
