previous 6/10 next 8/10  Bayern 1 - 2 Vorwärts (393016909)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 33063 had shown up at Allianz Stadion for the match. Tomas Otis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dieter Kreuter and Alexander Hansen. Bayern decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Dabu - Mitlacher, Hellerau, Oleksik - Balut, Schistos, Ribeiro, Słupecki, Galy - Zarco Punteros, Gelli.

Vorwärts tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. The following players took the field: Germ - Wochnick, Neunhäffer, Sazanov, Cayron - Aune, Zehme, Haeckel - Tamburro, Vitalis, Kopouw.

Vorwärts were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Bayern's R. Ribeiro's long shot really ought to have found the net 32 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. Vorwärts were pushed back, and had many dangerous counterattacks. An impressive one came 33 minutes into the match, but K. Neunhäffer narrowly missed the free kick attempt that was awarded as a result of a foul. Bayern took the lead 39 minutes in, as M. Zarco Punteros broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. S. Tamburro finished off the counterattack of Vorwärts from the left rather easily, making the score 1 - 1. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Bayern claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

After 55 minutes, Vorwärts put themselves up 1 - 2, as S. Tamburro finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. The Vorwärts players could smell victory in the air. S. Zehme wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for A. Gandola after 60 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Vorwärts coach let G. Hujber replace B. Aune after 65 minutes. With 65 minutes played, after a good run down the left, G. Balut went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. Vorwärts's A. Gandola got himself booked for a foul. Bayern had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

The most dominating Bayern player was without a doubt M. Zarco Punteros. However, R. Ribeiro made a disastrous appearance. Vorwärts's best player was A. Gandola. Y. Cayron on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 2.
