previous 6/10 next 8/10  Flynet 0 - 7 U.S.Sarmeola (393017991)

The crowd of 23940 turning up at Desy Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Jacek Sierota was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Albert Sánchez and Stefan Lannerbratt. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Flynet. The following players took the field: Nymann - Veratti, Öhler, Ruokolainen, Ozols, Scheweck - Davidson, Decamps, Viadana - Latchimy, Hanzuš.

U.S.Sarmeola started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Breivik - Botasso, Michelotti, Wurzach - Ehrenhardt, Gondouin, Alia, Wladika, Carrasquilla - Beginović, Mazas.

For their match strategy, Flynet had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 1 minutes into the game, U.S.Sarmeola wanted to bring some new energy to their game. G. Michelotti gave E. Barbetta a quick hug as he left the field. After 19 minutes, U.S.Sarmeola's J. Mazas made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. 22 minutes into the match U.S.Sarmeola's L. Botasso viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like J. Mazas. The referee signalled a penalty 29 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. J. Wurzach knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. Flynet's W. Davidson made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 37 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the game, U.S.Sarmeola worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, W. Davidson got himself booked. The manager of Flynet was not happy. 41 minutes into the match, U.S.Sarmeola's E. Beginović demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to J. Mazas who chipped it in for 0 - 3. The visitors' J. Mazas took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 42 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for U.S.Sarmeola. This third goal completed a hattrick for J. Mazas. Confident in their lead, U.S.Sarmeola's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. It was 0 - 4 at the break. U.S.Sarmeola had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.

With 73 minutes played, the Flynet coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. G. Socaciu came on, J. Decamps had to leave the fray. 83 minutes in, U.S.Sarmeola's A. Ehrenhardt received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Flynet were forced into a substitution as T. Ruokolainen couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing G. Alecci to come in off the bench. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but D. Wladika showed great heart and had a good game. After 86 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave J. Wurzach a chance to increase the lead for U.S.Sarmeola, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 5. U.S.Sarmeola had to manage with a reduced squad after 87 minutes, as E. Barbetta got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. 88 minutes into the game, Flynet seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. After 88 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for E. Gondouin who increased U.S.Sarmeola's lead to 0 - 6. C. Carrasquilla received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 89 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 7. The U.S.Sarmeola fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 89 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Flynet found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to passable. Possession in this half belonged to U.S.Sarmeola, who controlled the ball 80 percent of the time.

M. Hanzuš performed admirably for Flynet. G. Alecci on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important U.S.Sarmeola player was J. Mazas. However, B. Breivik made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 7.
