After a fine move down the middle I. Franceschini nearly gave the home side a goal after 4 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. The visiting S. Hes was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 8 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. With 13 minutes having been played, Codroipo scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but R. Škubal was marked down as the scorer. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 23 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from C. Mullin, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Codroipo, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

With 60 minutes played, the Etxebarrieta coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. C. Velea came on, L. Spolaore had to leave the fray. C. Velea was handed the Etxebarrieta captain's armband. Etxebarrieta levelled the score after 72 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as M. Pelliciari struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. Codroipo made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left H. Quintela completely alone with keeper A. Santirocchi, who made a spectacular block. T. Sostero was called on to replace Codroipo's J. Atutxa after 75 minutes following a nasty collision. Codroipo could have put themselves ahead after 80 minutes but R. Škubal missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Etxebarrieta took the lead after 81 minutes making the score 2 - 3. G. Giosuè placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Codroipo tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. M. Elkin made a superb strike after 84 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. After 85 minutes, Codroipo switched M. Elkin with P. Caccuri, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Quintela from Codroipo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 87 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Codroipo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Most important Codroipo player was R. Škubal. On the other hand, C. Coll's play was disheartening. Etxebarrieta's best player was C. Velea. However, X. Casty made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 3.
