Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 50317 to Popeda Arena. Jörn Classen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ivar Gottstad and Luca Rossi Sciume. Vaitiniemi was, after 30 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper N. Savenkovas made the save. Y. Maipas was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for United with a strike from the left, but T. Kaaresvirta managed to ward the shot off for a corner. P. Uuttu left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 40 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. J. Heloma was the replacement. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Wursti, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

The home crowd was not impressed when T. Vaitiniemi came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 48 minutes. Wursti were now up 0 - 2. Good work by the United defensive line after 64 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found T. Vanhoorickx alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Wursti's T. Vaitiniemi was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 66 minutes. Wursti enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

The most dominating United player was without a doubt A. Urea. N. Savenkovas turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Wursti player was V. Kosonen. J. Heloma on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 2.
