47000 spectators had come to
Kuularinki this cloudy day.
Agustín Miguel Castillo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Michele Regolin and
Nicolae Bordes.
Perho started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Leminen - Tanrıkul, Kylmäniemi, Akhmetov - Nechkov, Čokara, Stacker, Ténailleau, Loesmann - Zandter, Melanen.
WBS tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Jokipolvi - Daulne, Hansen, Evangelista - Augsberger, Wijffels, Wickerberg, Ahmed, Stefaniak - Mulazzani, Koot.
It was an obvious ambition of Perho to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 15 minutes, but
V. Leminen made a beautiful one-handed save.
Perho took the lead after 16 minutes as a result of
G. Zandter's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
After 21 minutes,
V. Čokara put Perho ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
WBS certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but
B. Stefaniak just wasn't able to finish.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
M. Daulne got himself booked. The manager of WBS was not happy.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Perho enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Coming from the right,
O. Tanrıkul almost managed to score another goal for Perho, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
B. Koot had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper
V. Leminen was simply unbeatable.
The Perho players could smell victory in the air.
J. Kylmäniemi wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
B. Moltrup-Nielsen after 70 minutes.
B. Moltrup-Nielsen was handed the Perho captain's armband.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Perho coach let
A. Saarenkulma replace
V. Čokara after 70 minutes.
M. Loesmann of Perho received a yellow card after 74 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Ater 76 minutes
L. Hansen seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for WBS making it 2 - 1.
Players in Perho heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
The home side's
O. Tanrıkul came close to extending the lead 77 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
J. Jokipolvi managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
Perho claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Perho's best player was
W. Stacker.
M. Loesmann was a disappointment, however.
Most important WBS player was
A. Mulazzani.
On the other hand,
J. Jokipolvi's play was disheartening.
The match ends 2 - 1.
