Tigrisek 2 - 1 Varadinum
(393032959)

11-07-2012 09.45
43000 spectators arrived at
Tigris Aréna, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Tim Kirkeby was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Arnold Veress and
Børge Thorsgaard.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Tigrisek.
The following players took the field: Polanco - Tiozzo, Sturman, Fast Nielsen - Walshe, Allén, Bakarić, Belkó, Krisztián - Gösele, Tormenta.
Varadinum decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
They fielded: Verbruggen - Furák, Peloza, Perger, Dobóvári - Kéri, Hados, Bodzás, Balázs, Kállay - Kallivoda-Koltay.
It was an obvious ambition of Tigrisek to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Varadinum saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Varadinum's
I. Balázs could have put the guests one up after 7 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
F. Polanco was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
After 19 minutes, Tigrisek's
F. Polanco fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
31 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Tigrisek to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
B. Gösele alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
Z. Furák had a good opportunity to give Varadinum the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
F. Belkó, but the Tigrisek player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
Players in Varadinum heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
With 47 minutes played, the visitors almost levelled the score.
Á. Perger shot a hard curved free kick, striking the post.
After 60 minutes of the match, the manager still hoped to turn things around.
G. Kéri was ordered to assume a different position on the pitch. He took the place of
K. Bodzás, who in turn replaced his team mate.
Still trailing on the score board, Varadinum adjusted their tactics after 60 minutes.
R. Kállay had a quick chat at the side line, then switched positions with
L. Hados.
The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed Varadinum's coach gave
E. Kovács the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
K. Bodzás reluctantly left the field.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Varadinum's
L. Hados was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes.
K. Simon was given a chance to change things around.
After 71 minutes, Varadinum switched
T. Peloza with
A. Zsiborás, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
As the match clock reached 71 minutes, Tigrisek's organisation began to suffer due to a lack of experience.
Tigrisek put themselves up 2 - 0 when
B. Gösele broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
After 80 minutes Varadinum's
Á. Perger contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
It was obvious that Tigrisek had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Coming from the right,
H. Allén almost managed to score another goal for Tigrisek, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
The visitors' right side was dangerous today;
Á. Perger made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 2 - 1 84 minutes into the match.
Varadinum's
I. Balázs refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 87 minutes.
Varadinum had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
The most dominating Tigrisek player was without a doubt
D. Bakarić.
F. Polanco was a disappointment, however.
Most important Varadinum player was
E. Kovács.
Á. Perger on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 1.
