(393034997)

11-07-2012 10.30
The 56218 spectators at
Allmend Luzern were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Morten Ottem was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Paolino Terrin and
Moritz Flamming.
FCL had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Mehlert - Gobrecht, Bosq, Senjan - Finkelstein, Znots, Díaz, Mosberger, Rondepierre - Denzler, Behnisch.
schilte-siebni decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Duclos - Dalnoki, Dai Prá, Hilfiker - Kastrup, Paciaroni, Plante, Neira, Minnema - Hegglin, Parrino.
The referee showed FCL's
E. Rondepierre the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
E. Minnema's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 13 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
M. Parrino who knocked it in for schilte-siebni. 0 - 1!
The home crowd cheered when, after 21 minutes,
E. Minnema's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 28 minutes, schilte-siebni tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
The visitors added to their lead 30 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by schilte-siebni's
E. Minnema slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 2.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
schilte-siebni claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 63 minute mark, FCL's
L. Finkelstein hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
After 66 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
P. Hegglin a chance to increase the lead for schilte-siebni, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the schilte-siebni coach let
T. Biedermann replace
T. Duclos after 66 minutes.
P. Hegglin left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 67 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
K. Thorne was the replacement.
schilte-siebni increased their lead after 72 minutes when
C. Hilfiker broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay.
The coach of schilte-siebni was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 73 minutes,
A. Avalos came on for
E. Minnema.
The crowd groaned when
V. Znots, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for FCL.
K. Thorne knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 0 - 5 after 75 minutes.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of schilte-siebni lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
FCL were awarded a penalty 85 minutes into the match and
M. Díaz fired the ball into the net to make the score 1 - 5.
Possession in this half belonged to schilte-siebni, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
FCL's top performer was clearly
V. Znots.
K. Behnisch turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important schilte-siebni player was
M. Parrino.
However,
T. Biedermann made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 5.
