It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 47383 that came out to Stade de swissmade. Michel Rothen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Matúš Vikuk and Asmo Kulmala. swissmade tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for KNALLFRÖSCH. The following players had been chosen: Ortega - Möllerling, Torres - Ortiz, Duque, Lazzara, Arnhold, Nasjleti - Dohromoský, Plasman, Caron.

For their match strategy, swissmade had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 10 minutes into the game, J. Dohromoský had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 34 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from F. Markovic, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. 36 minutes in, swissmade's M. Waldmann received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A loud groan was heard from the fans of KNALLFRÖSCH, as A. Torres left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. R. Nebel took his place on the field. J. Ortiz's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 40 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to B. Plasman who knocked it in for KNALLFRÖSCH. 1 - 1! swissmade got a penalty shot 43 minutes into the game, but J. Allen scuffed the shot slightly and H. Ortega was able to block. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to KNALLFRÖSCH, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

B. Plasman would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. P. Ciola entered the game for KNALLFRÖSCH as the match clock showed 46 minutes. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a swissmade substitution. S. Polston came on for M. Turchetto. K. Caron came close to putting the visiting team one up 79 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but T. Lah managed to tip the ball to a corner. 84 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but R. Nebel, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. With the clock showing 85 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of swissmade resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by E. van Oosten in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. K. Caron found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. The sunny day didn't make things easy for M. Waldmann who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. 88 minutes into the match, KNALLFRÖSCH nearly took the lead, as D. Möllerling broke through on the right. T. Lah made the save, however. With 88 minutes played, K. Kallen of swissmade fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. KNALLFRÖSCH took the lead after 89 minutes making the score 1 - 2. J. Dohromoský placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 89 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when swissmade's K. Kallen received his second yellow card and was sent off. KNALLFRÖSCH claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

The most dominating swissmade player was without a doubt O. Roşianu. On the other hand, E. van Oosten's play was disheartening. K. Caron performed admirably for KNALLFRÖSCH. J. Ortiz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
