It had rained all day, but 33289 hardy fans still made it out to Iniesta´s Arena. Gernot Gfatter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gerard De Schrijver and Livio Piciarelli. Iniestaesdios decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. They fielded: Wilkins - Breton, Baijot, Kapitza, Asperti, Mózes - Blokker, Selčan, Filippelli, Węglowski - Anca.

Ratas started off with a 5-3-2 lineup. Lineup: Zas - Ulvestad, Zola, Dušek, Taulats, Drăgoi - Paez, Esteban, Rafi - Ostos Pérez, Bugia.

G. Kapitza was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by C. Asperti, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. At 20 minutes played, C. Asperti came in from the right with the intention of giving Iniestaesdios the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. Iniestaesdios's G. Baijot had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 22 minutes having been played. M. Chwiejczak was the replacement. Ratas mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 25 minutes, but A. Esteban was unable to convert from short range. G. Filippelli gave Iniestaesdios the lead with a beautiful free kick after 28 minutes. 1 - 0! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Ostos Pérez from Ratas a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 29 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Iniestaesdios claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

E. Ulvestad tied the game at 1 - 1 after 51 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. After 60 minutes, the Ratas coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving A. Esteban off the field. N. Coucieiro took his place. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Ratas coach decided it was time for a substitution. F. Bugia reluctantly made way for A. Cenăuţan on the pitch. Ratas's D. Drăgoi got himself booked for a foul. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Iniestaesdios, as G. Filippelli left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. J. Encinos took his place on the field. The Iniestaesdios captaincy was handed to J. Encinos. Ratas took the lead after E. Ulvestad curved a free kick into the net. 1 - 2 E. Ulvestad was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. 79 minutes into the match, J. Ostos Pérez came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Ratas came close to extending their lead as A. Cenăuţan delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 80 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Iniestaesdios caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 81 minutes into the match. J. Encinos was able to finish off the move - 2 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ratas, with 54 percent of the ball.

As neither team was able to break the deadlock before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. After 111 minutes, Ratas's S. Taulats fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! After 112 minutes, J. Encinos came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 3 - 2, giving Iniestaesdios the lead. Game over, Iniestaesdios win! A. Selčan performed admirably for Iniestaesdios. J. Encinos on the other hand, had a terrible day. Ratas's best player was E. Zas. However, M. Dušek made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
