Pantaleones's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 60 minutes gone, but B. Plejdrup's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 65 minutes into the match, the GAS manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. L. Rességuier had a good opportunity to give GAS the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 78 minutes allowed A. Mastroianni to score for GAS. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. Pantaleones needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 78 minutes E. Yilmaz made way for M. Fermoso. Content with how the game was proceeding, the GAS coach let G. Palencia replace A. Mastroianni after 85 minutes. After 85 minutes GAS's J. Novoa limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
