Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 57068 to vlajicevo brdo. Mikael Buljo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Barnabé Pras and Amiad Zeltzer. koloseum had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Putniković - Songurtekin, Radulski - Garcia, Scherm, Krivokapić, Comşa, Ruhl - Burlić, Aranđelović, Rickman.

Belgrade decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Janjušević - Janković, Stojadinov, Bonacci - Beljanski, Alberzoni, Ülfətzadə, Piplović, Daish - Grondin, Sasimas.

T. Sasimas of Belgrade seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by S. Bonacci. After 15 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave L. Piplović a chance to increase the lead for Belgrade, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, Belgrade's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The home keeper was stunned 24 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by S. Bonacci and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 3. Some fine movement on the left led to a Belgrade goal after 25 minutes, making it 0 - 4. L. Piplović was noted down as the scorer. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Belgrade's S. Bonacci put the visitors up 0 - 5 after 31 minutes. After 37 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for N. Grondin who increased Belgrade's lead to 0 - 6. 0 - 6 was the halftime score. Belgrade had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

C. Daish made a nice dash down the wing after 49 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. koloseum refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle, G. Scherm managed to slip the ball home for 1 - 6. L. Piplović's lack of experience almost gave koloseum a goal after 77 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. The visitors' T. Sasimas took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 78 minutes into the match. 1 - 7 for Belgrade. koloseum's Z. Krivokapić had the ball at his feet in front of goal after a quickly taken free kick after 79 minutes, but was robbed of it in the blink of an eye by an onrushing defender. G. Scherm looked like he could fly, as he rose high to head the ball. Unfortunately for koloseum, the ball went just barely wide. N. Grondin received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 83 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 8. The Belgrade fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Belgrade claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Most important koloseum player was M. Rickman. On the other hand, L. Putniković's play was disheartening. Belgrade's top performer was clearly N. Grondin. L. Piplović was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 8.
