previous 7/10 next 9/10  blaizers 0 - 2 Wheyman (393045620)

The crowd of 13656 turning up at the blaizers dome today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Ibrahim Bryde Andersen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Boris Simon and Sędzisław Kocięda. People from all over Ad Dawhah had joined up for the derby. blaizers had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. The following players took the field: Martins - Hajari, Jonasson, Ölschléger, Trübger - Pichaim, Bin Faisal Al-Hitmi, Baturay - Al-Naimi, Uściłowski, Mednyánszky.

Wheyman tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. Lineup: Bin Abdulla Al-Ishaq - Al-Kandari, Al-Manea, Garfagnini, Burdujan - Al-Khalla, Waltenspül, Nelskylä, Stomeo, Popolizio - Kolitsidakis.

For their match strategy, blaizers had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Coming in from the right, blaizers had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 13 minutes, but B. Trübger's attempt to finish was easily stopped. Thighs bulging, Y. Baturay charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. Wheyman took the lead after 20 minutes making the score 0 - 1. F. Al-Manea placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. After 20 minutes, blaizers used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. A drive down the left side allowed L. Popolizio to get in close and score another goal for Wheyman after 36 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. J. Pichaim tried to get a goal back for blaizers but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. blaizers's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 40 minutes gone, but J. Pichaim's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Wheyman claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

N. Hajari was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. P. Kolitsidakis left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. E. Baghbanian was the replacement. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Wheyman, with 63 percent of the ball.

blaizers's top performer was clearly Y. Baturay. On the other hand, N. Hajari's play was disheartening. Wheyman's best player was L. Popolizio. A. Bin Abdulla Al-Ishaq on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 2.
