(393046907)

11-07-2012 16.30
Due to an all-day shower, 39308 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Zero boys Marakana.
Osiro Baillie was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Guillaume Clery and
Joel Honkasaari.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Zero.
Lineup: Bocskor - Elm, Fast Hansen, Havlykke - Piazzi, Unkasz, Paolinelli, Kallionpää, Rostgaard - Grosen, Plejdrup.
Stoke decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: da Luz - Schregg, Paganoni, Szerszenowicz, Constantin - Mouche, Bøge, Sevdil, Veth - Gross, Grobov.
Zero were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
After 6 minutes, Stoke put themselves up 0 - 1, as
D. Gross finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
Thighs bulging,
D. Gross charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
26 minutes into the match,
D. Gross came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
No matter how hard he tried,
W. Plejdrup just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 32 minutes.
Zero were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Stoke, with 51 percent of the ball.
N. Sevdil wanted to play on, but the Stoke coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 51 minutes into the game by
R. Gadeberg.
A. Paolinelli did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
With 68 minutes played, after a good run down the left,
T. Havlykke went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving.
The referee showed Zero's
T. Havlykke the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Zero's
M. Unkasz got himself booked for a foul.
Zero's
B. Grosen was shown a yellow card after 84 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
85 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
C. Veth finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
A drive down the left side allowed
D. Gross to get in close and score another goal for Stoke after 89 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3.
Stoke claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
The most dominating Zero player was without a doubt
A. Paolinelli.
W. Plejdrup on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Stoke's top performer was clearly
D. Gross.
On the other hand,
J. Szerszenowicz's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 3.
