previous 3/10 next 5/10  Fönsis 2 - 1 zero7 (393051124)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Fönsis Park saw a crowd turnout of 989. Jason de Winter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Walery Szawłowski and Milo Roe. Fönsis tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Rito - Metsäpelto, Richard, Loeffel - Ghislanzoni, Zanola, Bonnafoux, Wallner, Fronteau - Lagneaux, Fellegara.

zero7 had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Nummelin - García, Montilla, Kövér, Arellano - Marín Adán, Kunić, Gaster, Someşfălean, Mirto Randazzo - Skogholt.

zero7 clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. M. Skogholt's lightning pace was too much for K. Metsäpelto who could only look on as the zero7 player blasted one home. 0 - 1. Fönsis tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Fönsis, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

F. García left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. V. Lambardi was the replacement. Content with how the game was proceeding, the zero7 coach let A. Riley replace M. Skogholt after 46 minutes. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 68 minutes played, A. Richard of Fönsis made the score 1 - 1. D. Bonnafoux caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 77 minutes. This gave Fönsis the 2 - 1 lead. After 78 minutes, zero7 used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. With 83 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after G. Someşfălean came through the middle, but his kick went wide. zero7 had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Coming through the middle D. Kunić almost scored the equaliser for zero7 after 87 minutes, but E. Rito made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post. zero7's A. Riley was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 88 minutes. Fönsis enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

The most dominating Fönsis player was without a doubt E. Rito. K. Metsäpelto on the other hand, had a terrible day. L. Gaster performed admirably for zero7. On the other hand, C. Arellano's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
