Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Krafts Wins saw a crowd turnout of 37451.
Ove Alsted was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lynn Gilman and
Gary Woodward.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Krafts.
Lineup: Özdoğal - Gualtieri, Veltri, Göthe, Barros - Barbosa, Tartaglia, Torp, Ämmänpää, Lorenzini - Roche.
Semíramis decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Wahlland - Alcocer, Berloni, Castro - Leitão, Graziano, Weller, Fiorentinos, Guarinon - Pena, Almeida.
It was an obvious ambition of Krafts to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Today, Semíramis's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
E. Özdoğal looked great 6 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
A. Guarinon.
With 13 minutes played,
J. Alcocer of Semíramis fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Semíramis were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
S. Weller sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
J. Alcocer after 21 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1.
The referee showed Krafts's
J. Ämmänpää the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Semíramis enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
With 47 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
J. Alcocer of Semíramis to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2.
After this, you could see that the players of Semíramis were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After 65 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Semíramis was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
J. Alcocer knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Semíramis player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game.
Unfortunately for Krafts,
M. Barros was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
F. Guang Tse replaced him.
G. Pena could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower.
J. Ämmänpää tried to get a goal back for Krafts but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move.
After 81 minutes, Semíramis's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game.
82 minutes in, Semíramis's
G. Pena received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Krafts were forced into a substitution as
F. Guang Tse couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
T. Eberbach to come in off the bench.
Krafts claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
D. Barbosa performed admirably for Krafts.
However,
J. Lorenzini made a disastrous appearance.
Semíramis's best player was
C. Almeida.
B. Castro on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 2.
