Margaritones 0 - 1 PERIFAR
(393059457)

12-07-2012 00.30
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 38406 at
Igor Sankovic Arena today.
Lasse Niinioja was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Pedro Zaldua and
Przemyslaw Boruch.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Montevideo derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Margaritones.
The following players took the field: Estoyanoff - Chircop, Barindelli, Pinto, Cornière - Bendelman, Aksel, Zaharia, Miclea, Galindo - Sanković.
PERIFAR tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Musafi - Lemaître, Miraglia, Viel - Di Leo, Gallinal, Georget, Saukas, Taskin - Sánchez, Viñas.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
M. Di Leo slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
D. Estoyanoff, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
Margaritones were able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from
I. Sanković went into the arms of the keeper.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Margaritones enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
After 75 minutes, the Margaritones coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach.
Possession in this half belonged to Margaritones, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
With the scores being level after 90 minutes, the match went into extra time.
After 93 minutes Margaritones's
A. Zaharia contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
94 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
K. Saukas, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
PERIFAR's
A. Georget got himself booked for a foul.
Unfortunately for Margaritones,
A. Zaharia was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
A. Vilar replaced him.
With 97 minutes played,
Y. Cornière of Margaritones fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 102 minutes into the match, and
A. Georget wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
What a dramatic win for PERIFAR!
The most dominating Margaritones player was without a doubt
E. Barindelli.
However,
I. Sanković made a disastrous appearance.
PERIFAR's top performer was clearly
W. Viñas.
L. Miraglia was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 1.
