previous 7/10 next 9/10  Hillary 2 - 0 Barakas (393063507)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 3844 that came out to Hornet Stadium. Olaf Meyer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Evrim Satir and Johan Nissbom. A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Hillary. Lineup: Wilnis - Cobb, Salazar Murillo, Guerdener, Macrae, Lourenço Vieira - Romero Leguina, Louis, Holtrust, Rodman - Ionascu.

Barakas had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Starters: Luboń - Fogelmo, Hansson, Nessblad, Eminovski - Caputo, Höstbeck, Løkken, Gustavsson, Zamudio - Turgut.

After 24 minutes, the Hillary manager redeployed his men. P. Louis swapped positions with T. Macrae. M. Romero Leguina gave Hillary the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 A. Guerdener unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Hillary had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

The Hillary free kick 52 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of B. Ionascu, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 0! The referee showed Hillary's M. Cobb the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 60 minutes played, the Barakas coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. S. Vukosavljević came on, D. Nessblad had to leave the fray. B. Ionascu wanted to play on, but the Hillary coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by B. Fulton. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, R. Rodman took over the role of being the Hillary captain. The bench was restless, and with 80 minutes passed Barakas's coach gave E. Helldahl the opportunity the player had been hoping for. S. Turgut reluctantly left the field. Barakas's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 83 minutes gone, but H. Höstbeck's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 84 minutes in, Barakas's V. Eminovski received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 87 minutes, the defensive line of Barakas created a counterattack through the middle that gave M. Fogelmo a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Hillary claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

The most dominating Hillary player was without a doubt B. Fulton. R. Rodman was a disappointment, however. Most important Barakas player was K. Løkken. V. Eminovski turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 0.
