(393063593)

10-07-2012 19.20
Due to an all-day shower, 1477 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
SuPeRaMiCi UTD StAdIum.
Ayvaz Belger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sascha Degenhardt and
Antti Hintsanen.
SIC58 had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation.
Starters: Opris - Msallem, Guedes, Rogić, Leithner - Isaković, Forner, Fitsoros - Irving, 安井 (Yasui), Neves.
SOKID tactics involved an interesting 5-2-3 combination.
They fielded: Virintie - Yaskovich, Schreck, Araya, Vanossi, Augusto Pereira - Striednig, Elebaut - Kabzan, Fanada, de Baets.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of SOKID.
Down the middle came
F. Schreck, making a fantastic play that nearly had SOKID take the lead after 16 minutes, but
I. Opris preserved the tie.
After 20 minutes,
良. 安井 (Yasui) came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving SIC58 the lead.
H. Msallem had a fantastic opportunity to put SIC58 up another goal 22 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
SOKID's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 23 minutes gone, but
O. Augusto Pereira's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
After 27 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by SIC58 was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
The SIC58 free kick 37 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
V. Forner, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 0!
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to SIC58, who controlled the ball 81 percent of the time.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, SOKID's
F. Schreck was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes.
G. Serediuc was given a chance to change things around.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
A. Neves squirmed through their central defence after 48 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
I. Yaskovich did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
N. Rogić's curling free kick almost found the goal for SIC58, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it.
What was
D. Striednig thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving
A. Neves an extra chance, but unfortunately for SIC58, he didn't get the shot right.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the SIC58 coach let
L. Salvalai replace
A. Neves after 65 minutes.
After 77 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
C. Irving might have resulted in another goal for SIC58. However,
J. Virintie made a spectacular save.
SOKID's counterattack was impressive and was only stopped by a shocking foul. Somehow, the referee's cards remained in his pocket - a terrible decision!
O. Augusto Pereira's resulting free kick was easily saved by the keeper.
SIC58 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 84 percent of possession.
Most important SIC58 player was
良. 安井 (Yasui).
However,
I. Opris made a disastrous appearance.
SOKID's best player was
C. Fanada.
M. Kabzan turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
