The 586 fans in attendance at Cocks Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Nicasio Viñas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Donato Blanchaud and Gabriël van Rijnsoever. After 11 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Field was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. The sun seemed to put T. Brandt in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. M. Tatangelo of Field received a yellow card after 25 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, G. Soragna scored for Field putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 36 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Horko from Ryyst a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A. Serra could have increased the lead after 38 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Ryyst claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

The visitors didn't give in and, after 47 minutes, G. Latella got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. After 48 minutes, Ryyst's G. Latella made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. After 52 minutes of play, M. Tatangelo equalised for Field after an elegant attack from the right. The visiting O. Mäenpää was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 56 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. 62 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 4 as O. Mäenpää finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Possession in this half belonged to Ryyst, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

Field's best player was A. Serra. P. Bozzolan turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Ryyst player was without a doubt W. Poteralski. J. Kuuluvainen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 4.
