The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 2356 had shown up at
Nokia Stadium for the match.
Enzo Affoltemer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Filippo Wanke and
Charles Gangblad.
Hartpool had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Wołczak - Porvari, van Roon, Kipponen - Vannieuwkerke, Schill, Ridel, Pasma, Stern - Gerersdorfer, Benoît.
C.S Sc.Du decided to use a 5-4-1 set up.
They fielded: Terteci - Răduc, Mustaţă, Furdui, Machejek, Orosz - Endeş, Papură, Vrăjitoarea, Cioriţă - Dobrotescu.
Hartpool tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
C.S Sc.Du showed off their creative tactics.
They were singing the praises of
S. Pasma 7 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Hartpool.
J. Vannieuwkerke's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 20 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
M. Benoît who knocked it in for Hartpool. 2 - 0!
Confident in their lead, Hartpool's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Hartpool solidified their lead at the 23 minute mark, as
V. Schill dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
R. Mustaţă of C.S Sc.Du was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
F. Ridel got himself booked. The manager of Hartpool was not happy.
C.S Sc.Du had to make a substitution after 35 minutes.
C. Terteci limped off the field and was replaced by
F. Estébanez Cabos.
A great save by keeper
F. Estébanez Cabos after 36 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
H. Gerersdorfer struck from the left with a real cannonball.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to Hartpool, who controlled the ball 87 percent of the time.
After 56 minutes,
F. Ridel put Hartpool ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Hartpool coach let
S. Németh replace
H. Gerersdorfer after 60 minutes.
The Hartpool players could smell victory in the air.
S. Pasma wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
D. Tündik after 60 minutes.
M. Benoît left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
A. Astrup was the replacement.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 73 minutes, Hartpool did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
A. Astrup was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 5 - 0.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Hartpool scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
A. Astrup after 77 minutes.
Hartpool had most of the ball, with 85 percent of possession.
Hartpool's top performer was clearly
S. Németh.
F. Wołczak was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating C.S Sc.Du player was without a doubt
G. Dobrotescu.
F. Endeş on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 6 - 0.
