The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave L. Pyż from O Brasil a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 31 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! D. Wildfellner of Rot-Weiß had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. W. Fuchs-Kubicek came in to finish the match. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Rot-Weiß enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from K. Alefantidis after 49 minutes, and prevented Rot-Weiß from going up another goal. With 57 minutes played, V. von Hallerhallerstein of Rot-Weiß fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. R. Trompet came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over R.
