(393094181)

11-07-2012 18.25
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3603 at
Argo Stadium today.
Harald Walter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jürgen Kobert and
Thomas Averty.
Filippo started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Lovison - Dapifer, Gundacker, Witte - Guerreiro Lopes, Sá Vieira, Rosa Oliveira, José, Toma - Paço, Raposo.
Catolica had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Freidl - Gezin, Terroba, Rodríguez, Mikulicz - Marull, Stan, Lanchester, Prado - Amiot, Chanteau.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Catolica.
6 minutes into the game, Catolica had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
weak.
Filippo's
G. Paço tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
The counterattacks of Catolica were deadly and 13 minutes into the game,
J. Amiot received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 0 - 1.
Filippo's
S. Guerreiro Lopes was shown a yellow card after 22 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
J. Prado would have put Catolica up another goal 24 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
U. Sá Vieira received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 27 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
33 minutes into the match, Filippo's
G. Paço maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1.
It was 1 - 1 at the break.
Filippo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Catolica was able to get his message across, and raised Catolica's organisation to
passable.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Catolica coach decided it was time for a substitution.
V. Stan reluctantly made way for
J. Fonseca on the pitch.
47 minutes in, Catolica appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 56 minutes into the match left Catolica's
J. Fonseca completely free to score. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
Filippo's
C. Rosa Oliveira was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 62 minutes.
After 69 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Catolica found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Filippo, with 59 percent of the ball.
Most important Filippo player was
M. José.
However,
E. Dapifer made a disastrous appearance.
J. Prado performed admirably for Catolica.
On the other hand,
G. Chanteau's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 2.
