2859 punters turned up at Theatre of a Champion, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Bronisław Zabiegała was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marco Widemann and Antonio Muñiz. STCT had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Samuelsen - Brânză, Calveri, Oprea - Szépvölgyi, Cârciu, Lupică, Capustin, Lagle - Uţiu, Ştefan.

Rastafas tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. Starters: Huja - Sjöner, Ławicki, Ježek, Krátký, Lanjouw - Vlk, Schwarzer, Pospíšil, Mihulka - Hlad.

Rastafas's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 6 minutes gone, but P. Ławicki's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. With 12 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as V. Capustin flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to STCT, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by V. Krátký. At last, Rastafas's P. Ławicki was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 1. With 55 minutes played C. Ştefan almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Rastafas's O. Hlad left the field after 58 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was V. Maršík. STCT created a good opportunity to score 59 minutes into the match when M. Cârciu's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Rastafas's B. Vlk placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but V. Schwarzer couldn't finish. After 67 minutes, Rastafas's M. Pospíšil made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. B. Szépvölgyi charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for STCT, but the shot went well wide of the goal. STCT claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

B. Szépvölgyi performed admirably for STCT. M. Cârciu on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Rastafas player was without a doubt V. Maršík. P. Sjöner turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
