previous 1/10 next 3/10  PSQN 3 - 2 Patathinaikos89 (393115336)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Heroes Arena saw a crowd turnout of 1443. Ferdinand Diédhiou was the appointed referee. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for PSQN. The following players took the field: Wyszoczky - Vesterstrand, Pulvani, Elmtoft - Hoch, Abspoel, Laurentzy, Komorótzky, Foxvig - Horváth, Jónás.

Patathinaikos89 started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. They fielded: Bonné - Comazzi, Palmese, Kotajärvi - Rao, Ivarsson, Pérez, Tiberino - Marsetti, Leis, Storm.

PSQN seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Patathinaikos89 saw most attack opportunities on the wings. A foul after 16 minutes resulted in a free kick. D. Elmtoft cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 1 - 0. There was concern in the stands when, at the 35 minute mark, PSQN's L. Foxvig hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, G. Pulvani got himself booked. The manager of PSQN was not happy. PSQN solidified their lead at the 38 minute mark, as M. Hoch dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. I. Storm of Patathinaikos89 was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 42 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as I. Storm anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 2 - 1. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by PSQN, with 66 percent of the ball.

After 52 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Patathinaikos89 on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by C. Marsetti to make it 2 - 2. A questionable penalty 65 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 3 - 2. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as D. Elmtoft knocked the ball home. Patathinaikos89's I. Storm refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 72 minutes. The bench was restless, and with 76 minutes passed Patathinaikos89's coach gave T. Bang the opportunity the player had been hoping for. C. Marsetti reluctantly left the field. It was obvious that team PSQN had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Patathinaikos89's I. Tiberino was shown a yellow card after 86 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A late sliding challenge from I. Tiberino was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Patathinaikos89 left a man down. PSQN claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

The most dominating PSQN player was without a doubt G. Pulvani. T. Horváth was a disappointment, however. G. Rao performed admirably for Patathinaikos89. However, E. Leis made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
