Blasfemia 2 - 3 CP9
(393124060)

10-07-2012 19.10
985 spectators had found their way to
Giuseppe Acciaio Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Pedro Oleguer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gerhart Frühwirth and
Rune Ødegaard.
Blasfemia decided to use a 5-2-3 set up.
Lineup: Paes - Pedreiro, Caleri, Zanforlin, Nassimben, Robustelli - Dahle, Severino - Bentivegna, Harlow, Ayala.
CP9 had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
Starters: Torre - Berkien, Valdéz, Cellemme, Solla, Buson - Oddina, Beilin, Cigala - Bosisio, Di Palma.
Blasfemia clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
10 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
A. Beilin, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Blasfemia played a good counterattacking move down the left 16 minutes into the match, with
A. Severino finishing well for 1 - 0.
18 minutes in, CP9 appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
poor.
37 minutes into the game CP9's
X. Valdéz found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1.
Blasfemia's
I. Bentivegna got himself booked for a foul.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
CP9 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that CP9 had
passable organisation.
CP9's
A. Bosisio was shown a yellow card after 49 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
A. Ayala didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
CP9 had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 81 minutes in when
C. Di Palma came up alone against
L. Paes who managed a block.
C. Caleri stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Blasfemia the goal to make it 2 - 1.
The home team will be cursing
O. Cigala for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 2 - 2 after 85 minutes.
2 - 3 was the score with 89 minutes played, after
O. Cigala cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for CP9.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
G. Robustelli should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting CP9 a goal with 89 minutes of the match played.
S. Buson could have put his team up another goal 89 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
CP9 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 77 percent.
A. Ayala performed admirably for Blasfemia.
A. Zanforlin turned in a dismal performance, however.
CP9's top performer was clearly
C. Di Palma.
However,
A. Oddina made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 3.
