Koenig elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. With 37 minutes played, FC.LUMU put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to F. Koenig, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Nordfriesland's K. Schrettenbrunner somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for J. Homann, who struck for 2 - 1. B. Blos could have increased the lead after 43 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Nordfriesland bypassed the midfield with their counterattack, leading to a free kick goal by D. Taube for 2 - 2. Against a lesser team, FC.LUMU could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 44 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. Halftime score was 2 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by FC.LUMU, with 71 percent of the ball.

L. Brandl would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. B. Roenne entered the game for Nordfriesland as the match clock showed 46 minutes. After 46 minutes, the Nordfriesland coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving J. Jaidhauser off the field. L. Kronabether took his place. C. Bettges caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 53 minutes. This gave FC.LUMU the 3 - 2 lead. Cheers filled the stadium as B. Blos broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 2 to FC.LUMU. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. M. Hoffmeister squirmed through their central defence after 71 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 2. Confident in their lead, FC.LUMU's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The referee showed FC.LUMU's N. Dräxler the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. FC.LUMU's L. Gerstmayr saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 78 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Bohra from FC.LUMU a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 79 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! FC.LUMU's L. Gerstmayr was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 83 minutes. FC.LUMU claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.

Most important FC.LUMU player was E. Cataneo. B. Bernhardt turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Nordfriesland player was without a doubt D. Taube. On the other hand, N. Allue Buiza's play was disheartening. The match ends 5 - 2.
