Clear skies welcomed the 2014 spectators who had made their way to Fulham Road SW 6. Colin Betton was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ofelio Quintupil and Zmago Mayer. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for CFC. The following players had been chosen: Lopes - Barak, Andreu, Pásztor, Kaplár - Piirainen, Krajcarz, Vogg, Orsós - Shim, Morgant.

PILIK started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Nafkha - Häfelin, Niass, Pedersen - Elizaycine, Keskin, Kolar, Paland, Reuter - Manrique, Brunsveld.

CFC displayed their ability to play creatively. It was an obvious ambition of PILIK to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 10 minutes into the match left PILIK's B. Paland completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for CFC, but H. Shim's shot went over the bar. CFC's P. Piirainen was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 17 minutes. C. Kaplár showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 24 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Players in PILIK heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. L. Manrique had a good opportunity to give PILIK the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. PILIK enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

After 63 minutes, CFC raised their score by one when Á. Orsós's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by H. Shim. 2 - 1. After a short break after 68 minutes, CFC seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. Undaunted, PILIK managed to tie it all up after 70 minutes, with L. Manrique's lucky free kick. The score was 2 - 2. 71 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a CFC substitution. V. Bartal came on for H. Shim. R. Elizaycine would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. S. Parçe entered the game for PILIK as the match clock showed 74 minutes. As the 75 minute mark approached, the PILIK coach decided it was time for a substitution. N. Pedersen reluctantly made way for C. Benavidez on the pitch. 77 minutes into the game, PILIK wanted to bring some new energy to their game. L. Manrique gave D. Reyna a quick hug as he left the field. Slack defending gave CFC a chance to take the lead with 87 minutes played, but P. Piirainen's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 88 minutes allowed C. Benavidez to score for PILIK. The scoreboard now read 2 - 3. CFC's S. Morgant put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 3 - 3 with 89 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. PILIK were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. With 89 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. D. Reyna put the ball away for 3 - 4. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from D. Reyna after 89 minutes, and prevented PILIK from going up another goal. CFC had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Most important CFC player was V. Bartal. On the other hand, L. Pásztor's play was disheartening. The most dominating PILIK player was without a doubt A. Kolar. However, W. Nafkha made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 4.
