Pechtold should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Beijum a goal with 31 minutes of the match played. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Beijum had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Beijum took the lead after 49 minutes as a result of J. Poortvliet's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. Beijum's I. Heuvelman put in a disappointing effort on a penalty after 74 minutes, firing just wide of the goal. After 82 minutes, Sc m.f.h.t were awarded a free kick as their counter attack broke down. The set piece was lifted over the top, intended to open up the defence. However, the target man seemed to be taken by surprise, and could not reach the ball before it crossed the line for a goal kick. Beijum claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

The most dominating Beijum player was without a doubt J. Poortvliet. I. Heuvelman was a disappointment, however. J. Steiger performed admirably for Sc m.f.h.t. On the other hand, H. Bottema's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 0.
