11-07-2012 15.05
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 947 to
gumers stadium.
Patrick Aigner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Linus Hellermann and
Ken Hancock.
Gumers had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Sánchez Bueno - Van Woensel, Gardano, Simona, Grare, De Vos - Teruel, Roque, Perencin - Lizza, Moise.
F.C.P.Q. started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
Lineup: Davchevski - Ishchuk, Thomason, Văn Khôi, Clement, Guizard - Zenkl, Budinov, Scorobete, Parquet - Núñez.
Gumers mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
With 8 minutes played
J. Van Woensel almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
M. Simona scored for Gumers putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 35 minutes.
39 minutes into the match,
J. Van Woensel could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar.
B. De Vos could have put Gumers up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 41 minutes.
1 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Gumers, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
M. Guizard found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat.
After 71 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as F.C.P.Q. found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
weak.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, F.C.P.Q.'s
D. Davchevski was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes.
K. Bouvet was given a chance to change things around.
D. Lizza could have increased the lead after 76 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
81 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
M. Simona broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Gumers.
After this, you could see that the players of Gumers were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Gumers had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.
The most dominating Gumers player was without a doubt
J. Roque.
However,
E. Gardano made a disastrous appearance.
Most important F.C.P.Q. player was
P. Budinov.
J. Thomason was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 0.
