Tazmania 7 - 0 Dynamos (393193021)

The crowd of 73650 turning up at Ercanto today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Edy Nüesch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peter Lang-Nielsen and Isauro Azambuja. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Tazmania. They fielded: Valli - Scano, Rubio, Figini - Barinaga, Everling, Bogdanović, Intola, Zilin - Planès, Vilellas.

Dynamos decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Komoń - Stępień, Skorić, Lequatre - Valadas, Bausa Lopez, Klimentov, Doychev, Koerner - Urlaub, Montenegro.

1 minutes into the match, the Tazmania manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. R. Montenegro had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. With 28 minutes played E. Barinaga almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. W. Zilin slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 37 minutes, Tazmania did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, V. Intola was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 0. É. Planès of Tazmania displayed some of his fantastic technical abilities when he brought the ball down neatly using his instep before nutmegging the bewildered P. Bausa Lopez and smashing an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper to make it 2 - 0. After 41 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by B. Everling might have resulted in another goal for Tazmania. However, K. Komoń made a spectacular save. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. Vilellas squirmed through their central defence after 42 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Tazmania enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Tazmania's E. Barinaga increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 50 minutes. By now, the players in Tazmania felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. W. Stępień could've grabbed a goal for Dynamos 54 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. 56 minutes in, Dynamos's K. Klimentov received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The home side's B. Bogdanović curled a free kick home after 57 minutes, putting Tazmania ahead 5 - 0. W. Zilin wanted to play on, but the Tazmania coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by P. Chiuso. Tazmania solidified their lead at the 63 minute mark, as P. Rubio dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. É. Planès left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 65 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. A. Faggiano was the replacement. Tazmania increased the lead as V. Figini struck to make the score 7 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. After 78 minutes Tazmania's E. Barinaga contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Tazmania had most of the ball, with 71 percent of possession.

The most dominating Tazmania player was without a doubt A. Faggiano. V. Intola was a disappointment, however. Dynamos's best player was N. Urlaub. Q. Valadas on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 7 - 0.
