Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 1967 to Trinxat Arena. Rocco Brunthaler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Vincenzo Francardelli and Øyvind Sand. AFK saw most attack opportunities on the wings. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to J. Cao de Benos, but the Planes player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Cheers filled the stadium as D. Rogersson broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Planes. AFK's C. Niedermühlbichler had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 15 minutes having been played. R. Pampamallco was the replacement. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Planes's M. Yunos increasing the lead to 3 - 0. AFK's right side looked dangerous after 20 minutes, as E. Hale broke through. F. Torrente continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. After 24 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by B. Younger might have resulted in another goal for Planes. However, I. Boncelj made a spectacular save. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Planes, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

The home side's B. Younger curled a free kick home after 74 minutes, putting Planes ahead 4 - 0. Confident in their lead, Planes's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Planes solidified their lead at the 80 minute mark, as A. Silaghi dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. After 81 minutes Planes's F. Matsson limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. E. Mombelli should probably have put his team up another goal after 85 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by I. Boncelj kept the visitors in the game. Planes had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

M. Yunos performed admirably for Planes. On the other hand, F. Matsson's play was disheartening. AFK's best player was R. Pampamallco. However, J. Vilhelmsen made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
