The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 511 had shown up at
Special One Stadium for the match.
Marius Geamănu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Magnus Heiberg and
Henk Johan Okker.
Florentia started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
Lineup: Hildebrands - Begert, Surga, Serban, Vandevoorde - Arraiz, Ruud, Hansson, Kolehmainen, Révol - Akola.
xfiles decided to use a 5-3-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Bult - Benetazzo, Udumashvili, D'Arrigo, Jeśko, Zdrojkowski - Guzmán, Pedersen, Jonk - Elguea, Bak Jensen.
For their match strategy, Florentia had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
xfiles were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
4 minutes into the game, Florentia seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
weak level of organisation.
Florentia fans held their breath as
A. Hansson scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
After 28 minutes, xfiles's
A. Benetazzo fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
xfiles showed their counterattack skill 34 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
K. Jonk scoring uncontested for 1 - 1.
The visiting
J. Bak Jensen was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 36 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score.
The crowd was on its feet 37 minutes into the match, as Florentia's
P. Akola found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 2 - 2 equaliser.
2 - 2 was the halftime score.
Florentia enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Florentia was able to get his message across, and raised Florentia's organisation to
solid.
46 minutes into the game, Florentia wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
L. Ruud gave
T. Rabi a quick hug as he left the field.
As the 60 minute mark approached, the Florentia coach decided it was time for a substitution.
C. Révol reluctantly made way for
M. Vidal on the pitch.
With 66 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Florentia resulted in a counterattack that set
G. Arraiz free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Florentia substitution.
C. Dolan came on for
P. Akola.
Florentia's
A. Serban refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 73 minutes.
Florentia broke through on the left 75 minutes into the game, with
G. Arraiz firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead.
82 minutes into the game, Florentia had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
solid.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Florentia, with 55 percent of the ball.
Florentia's top performer was clearly
T. Rabi.
E. Hildebrands was a disappointment, however.
K. Jonk performed admirably for xfiles.
On the other hand,
Y. Bult's play was disheartening.
