previous 3/10 next 5/10  Tarhapöllö 0 - 3 Siniset (393213071)

Due to an all-day shower, 46469 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Pöllöareena. Iancu Trifan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Frans Balder and Pascal Marquardt. Tarhapöllö had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Casaburo - Väänänen, Mönchmühle, Tax - Karolak, Bluks, Cilli, Długa, Crespi - Zieleniecki, Fotache.

Siniset decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Talpeş - Mikkola, Siukonen, Debiasi, Amarowicz - Pilaszek, Bator, Keltanen, Savola - Hu Chin, Marvan.

Tarhapöllö were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Siniset. With 6 minutes played G. Crespi almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit S. Bator just fine. After 24 minutes Siniset tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, J. Amarowicz's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tarhapöllö, with 58 percent of the ball.

69 minutes into the game, Siniset wanted to bring some new energy to their game. S. Bator gave A. van der Toorn a quick hug as he left the field. A. Fotache was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. 75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Siniset substitution. K. Andersson came on for J. Keltanen. A. Siukonen stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Siniset the goal to make it 0 - 1. Siniset caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 78 minutes into the match. M. Pilaszek was able to finish off the move - 0 - 2. G. Crespi, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. After 82 minutes, Siniset's M. Pilaszek burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Siniset's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 85 minutes gone, but A. Mikkola's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Tarhapöllö enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

I. Karolak performed admirably for Tarhapöllö. G. Crespi turned in a dismal performance, however. Siniset's best player was W. Hu Chin. However, K. Andersson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 3.
