Clear skies welcomed the 25000 spectators who had made their way to
nou camp orlow patrona.
Nicola Satta was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Flemming Vindeløv and
Christian Gandrup.
PATRONA had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Rubin - Hüma, Masuko, Haddow - Elizaburu, Kennea, Marchesoli, van de Tonnekreek, Sommer - Niederhofer, Munteanu.
Warriors decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Racca - Mislimi, Barile, Cutler - Bukhantsev, Nelson, Lyons, Caiger, Koïta - McEwan, Gero.
H. Elizaburu of PATRONA was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
A well placed corner kick from
D. Cutler was followed by
M. Koïta's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Warriors, the score now 0 - 1.
After 31 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
M. Koïta who increased Warriors's lead to 0 - 2.
Confident in their lead, Warriors's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 33 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called PATRONA's
Y. Masuko to one side and produced a red card for the player.
The visitors'
A. Mislimi took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 34 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Warriors.
PATRONA's
D. Sommer refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 37 minutes.
M. Koïta received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 39 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Warriors fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
M. Koïta.
0 - 4 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Warriors, with 58 percent of the ball.
P. Haddow's lack of experience almost gave Warriors a goal after 60 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
Warriors had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 66 minutes, but
A. Mislimi's shot from the left sailed high over the bar.
After 76 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
K. Nelson a chance to increase the lead for Warriors, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 5.
Warriors came close to extending their lead as
A. Mislimi delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 77 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
Warriors enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
L. van de Tonnekreek performed admirably for PATRONA.
However,
P. Haddow made a disastrous appearance.
Warriors's best player was
N. Gero.
C. Racca on the other hand, had a terrible day.
