Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 39944 to
Blunted Lane.
Suphayok Suphatra was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jorrit Pichner and
Conrad Marot.
Blunted started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Guillory - Hupert, Forstinger, Lundblad - Pichard, Kuukasjärvi, Forsyth, Rylance, Barroso - Antonarelli, Wüstling.
Dentbridge tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Hughes - Deebank, Ritchens, Frigoler - Savén, Barry, Ball, Hooper, Cefai - Shackleton, Lee.
The visiting
S. Lee was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 2 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
Dentbridge increased their lead after 12 minutes when
D. Cefai broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Confident in their lead, Dentbridge's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Blunted's
J. Hupert was shown a yellow card after 17 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Dentbridge's
T. Savén somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
S. Lee, who struck for 0 - 3.
After 27 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
T. Barry who increased Dentbridge's lead to 0 - 4.
The home crowd was not impressed when
T. Barry came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 33 minutes. Dentbridge were now up 0 - 5.
Halftime score was 0 - 5.
Dentbridge had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.
With 57 minutes played, Dentbridge put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
T. Savén.
Blunted's
M. Lundblad had the ball at his feet in front of goal after a quickly taken free kick after 67 minutes, but was robbed of it in the blink of an eye by an onrushing defender.
84 minutes into the match, Dentbridge's
D. Cefai demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
D. Shackleton who chipped it in for 0 - 7.
S. Lee increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8.
That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
S. Lee.
With 87 minutes gone, Dentbridge had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
R. Ritchens did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
Dentbridge increased the lead to 0 - 9 as
S. Hooper scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner.
89 minutes into the game,
D. Rylance had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
G. Trobia.
Blunted's
C. Antonarelli left the field after 89 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
C. Burrows.
Dentbridge claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.
C. Burrows performed admirably for Blunted.
J. Hupert was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Dentbridge player was without a doubt
S. Lee.
On the other hand,
R. Ritchens's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 9.
