MVD seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The referee showed MVD's E. Chepchumba the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Stallions, as E. Matits left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. A. Doliner took his place on the field. Down the middle came J. Sáenz del Molino, making a fantastic play that nearly had Stallions take the lead after 24 minutes, but G. Sauck preserved the tie. After 25 minutes of play, M. Uhland gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 34 minutes into the match Y. Daems put MVD ahead 2 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. At this point, it was obvious that the players of MVD lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The home crowd was silenced as V. Wimar took a successful penalty shot 35 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 2 - 1. Maybe due to the uphill battle the team was facing, the Stallions manager looked to change things around. After 36 minutes, R. Christie and J. Sáenz del Molino swapped positions on the field. 36 minutes in, Stallions's J. Sáenz del Molino received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. W. Buljan came close to levelling the score 37 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Stallions had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

H. Gonçalves finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 49 minutes into the match. 54 minutes in, the referee awarded MVD a penalty. Y. Daems coolly slotted it home for a 3 - 2 lead. D. Bancone had a fantastic opportunity to put MVD up another goal 62 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. İ. Yalınç wanted to play on, but the MVD coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 76 minutes into the game by F. Drietelaar. Stallions enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

MVD's best player was D. Bancone. M. Camboni on the other hand, had a terrible day. Stallions's top performer was clearly V. Wimar. A. Doliner was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
