(393219731)

18-07-2012 08.00
40000 punters turned up at
SUSURLUK Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Eli Goldin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Anatole Pape and
Javier Blommaert.
The derby had been the talk of
İstanbul all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for SUSURLUK.
Lineup: Briatico - Ecay, Foti, Puch, Mureşian - Biszczak, Cantú, Stjernby, Vaz Martins - Feryüz, Brezevšček.
YENILMEZLER started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
Starters: Kaloxilos - Francken, Favreau, Borghorst, De Angeli - Lekkas, Alrich, Gümüş, Ertem, Yomut - Schulz.
YENILMEZLER's
K. Borghorst could have put the guests one up after 18 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
V. Briatico was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
YENILMEZLER enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a SUSURLUK substitution.
M. Demirtaş came on for
D. Vaz Martins.
M. Demirtaş was handed the SUSURLUK captain's armband.
P. Schulz had a good opportunity to give YENILMEZLER the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
That YENILMEZLER's
T. Gümüş has the ability of doing what no one expects him to do was shown as he ran over an opposing defender, snatched the ball and passed to
P. Schulz who hit it hard into the wide open goal after 62 minutes: 0 - 1!
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, SUSURLUK's
B. Stjernby was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes.
C. Atik was given a chance to change things around.
YENILMEZLER increased their lead after 78 minutes when
P. Favreau broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay.
SUSURLUK needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 79 minutes
D. Brezevšček made way for
I. Simões.
YENILMEZLER came close to extending their lead as
A. Alrich delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 83 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by YENILMEZLER, with 67 percent of the ball.
SUSURLUK's best player was
P. Cantú.
However,
C. Atik made a disastrous appearance.
YENILMEZLER's top performer was clearly
T. Gümüş.
H. Yomut was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
