Pressing was the tactic of the day for Panesas. Osca used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Panesas's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. After 30 minutes, the Panesas coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving A. Rolán off the field. U. Miura took his place. M. Plaza would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. J. Ibartola entered the game for Panesas as the match clock showed 30 minutes. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Panesas, with 58 percent of the ball.

As the 46 minute mark approached, the Osca coach decided it was time for a substitution. A. Douchez reluctantly made way for O. Bennetzen on the pitch. 55 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Osca substitution. E. Scalambrieri came on for T. Jansen. The pressing tactics used by Panesas were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. 60 minutes into the game, Osca wanted to bring some new energy to their game. J. van Grieken gave R. Cornaggia a quick hug as he left the field. Osca's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. After 65 minutes, the Osca manager redeployed his men. M. With the scores being level after 90 minutes, the match went into extra time. Osca pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. The result was still a draw, so the match had to be settled with penalties.

Clearly nervous from the start, Panesas's M. Carrera took a long run up, but could only blast the ball over the bar. The score remains 0 - 0. Osca's O. Bennetzen didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of H. Wisak-Gradinger. The score remained 0 - 0. Panesas's V. Soto, obviously having last minute doubts, produced a loose ball to the right post. Unfortunately M. Santa made a premature move to the left and didn't make it back. New score: 1 - 0. Osca's M. De Frangh was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 1 - 1! Panesas's J. Ibartola kept his cool as he faced down M. Santa. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 2 - 1. A badly laid penalty by Osca's S. Allermöhe was surrendered by H. Wisak-Gradinger, who took an equally bad dive, making the score 2 - 2. Panesas's W. Wilderer looked nervous even as he was putting the ball on the spot. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. Osca's D. Finkers looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to put the ball, but unfortunately his shot went wide of the left hand post. Still 2 - 2. Panesas's C. Galiano showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 3 - 2. Osca's R. Cornaggia coolly put the ball past H. Wisak-Gradinger. 3 - 3. A terrible penalty by Panesas's D. Berdejo somehow managed to make it past M. Santa making the score 4 - 3. Oooh - how unlucky! Osca's M. Santa attempt hit the underside of the bar, but rebounded down into the grateful arms of H. Wisak-Gradinger. The score stays 4 - 3. Panesas's best player was V. Soto. H. Wisak-Gradinger was a disappointment, however. Most important Osca player was Y. Stoyanov. However, M. Santa made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 3.
