Dark skies made the crowd of 1790 at Syril FK Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Jack Säftorp was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Xavier Simonin and Antonio Silla Carrascosa. Syril started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. They fielded: Niv - Stenvik, Pettersen, Mulier, Brun - Kristoffersen, Landsverk, Scheie, Thomas, Winterwold - Tekebaev.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Leif. Lineup: Nilsen - Michaelsen, Eikeland, Winger - Stenstad, Heggheim, Nekkøy, Stangeland - Bergli, Sandvik, Theodorsen.

Syril made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left S. Pettersen completely alone with keeper H. Nilsen, who made a spectacular block. With 40 minutes played B. Tekebaev almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Syril claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 76 percent.

When S. Pettersen left the game because of a back injury after 65 minutes, Syril had to continue a man short due to there being no available replacements. Leif made it 0 - 1 as L. Theodorsen got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to F. Winger who whipped a low drive in off the far post. A. Heggheim left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. S. Weise was the replacement. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave P. Kristoffersen from Syril a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 82 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 83 minutes into the match, Syril's M. Scheie maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. 85 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Syril was A. Winterwold. Syril had no available replacements when J. Landsverk had to leave the game after 87 minutes because of a pulled tendon, leaving the team a man short. M. Scheie had a fantastic opportunity to put Syril up another goal 88 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Syril had most of the ball, with 71 percent of possession.

The most dominating Syril player was without a doubt M. Thomas. R. Mulier turned in a dismal performance, however. Leif's top performer was clearly S. Weise. L. Michaelsen was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
