The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 1989 had shown up at De Foreburght for the match. Niculae Frunzăverde was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andi Schleiss and Artemio Oyarzún. A 5-2-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Foreburgh. Starters: Smeekes - Wijnen, Siemons, Hoogendoorn, Ummels, Bijleveld - van der Duyn, Benner - Grootjans, Goelema, Grootjans.

Germania decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. They fielded: Verrijdt - Baydykov, Nilsen - Kolppo, Nieder, Mallea, Lüdeke, Simeonov - Berardi, Kreutzinger, Doebbel.

For their match strategy, Foreburgh had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 13 minutes into the game, A. Nieder had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. With 15 minutes played, T. Grootjans of Foreburgh fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 20 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but J. Doebbel, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. After 21 minutes Foreburgh tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, D. Ummels's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. Down the middle came G. Berardi, making a fantastic play that nearly had Germania take the lead after 22 minutes, but J. Smeekes preserved the tie. A. Bijleveld of Foreburgh was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 30 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. D. Lüdeke put the ball away for 0 - 1. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Germania, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

R. Kreutzinger left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. P. Lóstrego was the replacement. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Germania's D. Simeonov somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for J. Doebbel, who struck for 0 - 2. The home crowd was not impressed when J. Doebbel came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 63 minutes. Germania were now up 0 - 3. After 66 minutes, Germania's P. Lóstrego burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Germania's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The coach of Germania was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 71 minutes, G. Schreiweis came on for D. Lüdeke. Foreburgh's J. Wijnen got himself booked for a foul. A. Nieder behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 79 minutes as he gave the ball away to H. Benner. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, A. Mallea would have put Germania up another goal 80 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Good work by the Foreburgh defensive line after 81 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found H. Benner alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. G. Schreiweis received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 84 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 5. The Germania fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. A counterattack by Germania after 87 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but D. Simeonov, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Germania, with 80 percent of the ball.

Most important Foreburgh player was D. Ummels. T. Grootjans was a disappointment, however. Germania's best player was J. Doebbel. M. Verrijdt turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
