(393262016)

17-07-2012 19.30
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 2178 to
ŠP Adidas.
Laurent Coppin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Achim Eisl and
Adisorn Apasra.
ALJ decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Vainamäe - Skreškāns, Kezele, Dombrowski - Cornet, Sarajlić, Morev, Laszczak - Regnath, Felka, Heron.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for leoncini.
They fielded: Pesce - Persico, Lavezzo, El-Ommar, Petrelli - Pescio, Comello, Regoli, D'Agata - Frenquelli, Vundać.
leoncini used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
leoncini's
M. D'Agata got himself booked for a foul.
Slack defending gave ALJ a chance to take the lead with 33 minutes played, but
D. Heron's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
R. Frenquelli of leoncini was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish
U. Kezele, which resulted in a goal making the score 0 - 1.
One of many good crosses from
F. Pescio on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
A. Vundać, who scored for leoncini. 0 - 2
After 42 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
M. D'Agata a chance to increase the lead for leoncini, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3.
By now, the players in leoncini felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
0 - 3 was the score after the first half.
ALJ enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Proving his experience,
H. Regnath scored 1 - 3 for ALJ after putting some pressure on the opposing defence at a critical moment.
leoncini's
A. Vundać had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 57 minutes having been played.
E. Faccenda was the replacement.
M. D'Agata received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 72 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The leoncini fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
The referee showed leoncini's
E. Faccenda the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
After 76 minutes, ALJ sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
Z. Dombrowski, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 4.
80 minutes into the game ALJ broke through on the left wing and
O. Skreškāns managed to reduce the lead to 3 - 4.
After 89 minutes, ALJ switched
D. Heron with
K. Palagyi, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
ALJ had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
ALJ's best player was
M. Sarajlić.
K. Palagyi turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important leoncini player was
G. Petrelli.
D. Lavezzo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 4.
