A scorching day at
De Motten, where 3368 spectators were in place for today's match.
Burkhard Birnbaum was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Francis Vandecasteele and
Tomas Hulttorp.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for tungri.
The following players had been chosen: Plaire - Alder, Săndulescu, Pınar, Shimada - Miškelis, Houdart, Tušek, McCabe - Carrera, Pedró.
Ceahlaul started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Lassota - Balaş, Ingelsberger, Mănoiu - Widner, Bonsignore, Vanhanen, Dias, Meiser - Burnar, Zarev.
tungri took the lead 24 minutes in, as
V. Tušek broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
Ceahlaul's
V. Burnar got himself booked for a foul.
With 32 minutes played,
S. Houdart of tungri fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
A. Alder received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 36 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
tungri managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
S. Săndulescu cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
By now, the players in tungri felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Ceahlaul made it 2 - 1 as
N. Zarev got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
E. Vanhanen who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
Having just won a lot of ground following a quick turn of play, tungri were given a free kick at a sharp angle. Rather than going for the direct shot, the defence was bypassed by a few sideways passes, giving
V. Tušek the chance to slip through at goal. Nice teamwork! And 3 - 1, 44 minutes into the game.
It was 3 - 1 at the break.
tungri enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
A. Alder of tungri received a yellow card after 69 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
tungri's
Á. Carrera increased the lead to 4 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 70 minutes.
S. Săndulescu had a fantastic opportunity to put tungri up another goal 77 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
V. Burnar of Ceahlaul got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
J. Meiser.
With 82 minutes played, tungri put themselves up 5 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
V. Tušek, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
V. Tušek.
tungri claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
tungri's best player was
Á. Carrera.
V. Plaire was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Ceahlaul player was without a doubt
T. Ingelsberger.
However,
T. Mănoiu made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 5 - 1.
