The 1445 spectators at Estadio Vicente Calderon were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Ivailo Paskov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Elie Rougerie and Patrick Ouwehand. Fábián swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 0. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile S. Dowling. Atlétrikó's V. Incze was shown a yellow card after 29 minutes for slicing down an opponent. V. Andström made a run for the goal 35 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end. With 37 minutes played, E. Bezdíček of Deixarder fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Cheers filled the stadium as P. Breitenbach broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Atlétrikó. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their D. da Escravitude reduced the lead to make it 2 - 1 after 39 minutes, following a pass from the right. The home team will be cursing L. Soito for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 2 - 2 after 40 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2. Deixarder had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Deixarder will have to do without L. Soito for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 66 minute mark. He was substituted by A. Mata. After 67 minutes of play, J. Frigyes gave the home team a 3 - 2 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Atlétrikó caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 75 minutes into the match. V. Incze was able to finish off the move - 4 - 2. 76 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as D. da Escravitude anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 4 - 3. A. Gottskálksson's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from M. Ducept's shot from the left 77 minutes into the match. 79 minutes in, Atlétrikó's P. Fekete received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 80 minutes played, Atlétrikó put themselves up 5 - 3 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to T.
