2687 fans braved the pouring rain at
Sunshine Arena.
Mauro Fazzi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gigi Buffon and
Nihat Payende.
Sunshine started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Floridia - Stagraczyński, Janda, Caterina - Kraśniewski, Kuty, Lieberkind, Sanecki, Warcholak - Høines, Olchowy.
Soccer tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Labareda - Sauken, Järveläinen - Maennersdorfer, Ben-Baruch, Yehezkel, Ericsson, Zimperliesl - Moris, Cucija, Fernández.
After 1 minutes, the Soccer coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
J. Sauken off the field.
A. Liboni took his place.
As the 1 minute mark approached, the Soccer coach decided it was time for a substitution.
O. Järveläinen reluctantly made way for
M. Drageljević on the pitch.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
E. Sanecki should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Soccer a goal with 6 minutes of the match played.
After 19 minutes, Soccer put themselves up 0 - 1, as
S. Ben-Baruch finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
After 31 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
P. Cucija who increased Soccer's lead to 0 - 2.
Thighs bulging,
F. Olchowy charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
With 33 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
F. Moris of Soccer to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
After 34 minutes Soccer's
E. Zimperliesl had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony.
P. Soffientini came in to replace him.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Soccer goal after 36 minutes, making it 0 - 4.
S. Ben-Baruch was noted down as the scorer.
The players of Soccer now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Soccer's
N. Fernández put the visitors up 0 - 5 after 37 minutes.
0 - 5 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Soccer, with 73 percent of the ball.
50 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 6 as
N. Fernández finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
60 minutes in, Sunshine's
B. Lieberkind received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
P. Cucija received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 61 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 7. The Soccer fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
After 68 minutes, Soccer's
F. Moris burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 8.
Soccer claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.
Most important Sunshine player was
E. Høines.
E. Sanecki on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Soccer's best player was
F. Moris.
M. Drageljević turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 8.
