Gray could have brought this one home for Stephan as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After 35 minutes Santa Fe tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, D. Mixon's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. The referee showed Stephan's T. De Bonis the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Santa Fe, as J. Pohtola left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. Ó. Gaspar took his place on the field. F. Cebrià could have put Stephan up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 42 minutes. Santa Fe's E. Anfuffo got himself booked for a foul. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Stephan, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

F. Cebrià left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. M. Estadella was the replacement. The coach of Stephan was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes, P. Ternero came on for Ó. Carrizo. Santa Fe's counterattacks created a good chance for E.
