Tudelano 2 - 0 Modena
(393283921)

18-07-2012 15.15
Dark skies made the crowd of 964 at
Tutera Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Sergio Camalva was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Christopher Venkatesan and
Menéndez Rangel.
Tudelano tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Bozga - Ürmösi, Casamajó, Baatrup, Sarmaşık, Flodman - Vessies, Helebrant, Samit - Lacaille, Ruïch.
Modena had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Hardman - Garnys, Ambatllé, Mambretti, Niesłona, Galeano - Enyego, Frâncu, Ala-Kojola - Hadad, Carbonés.
For their match strategy, Tudelano had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
A questionable penalty 2 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as
L. Baatrup knocked the ball home.
With the clock showing 15 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Tudelano resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
J. Casamajó in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high.
After 25 minutes, Tudelano surprised their opponents with a breakaway counter attack. The defenders had to resort to a foul to stop it. The free kick that followed was a clever indirect effort that almost succeeded, but the defence read the situation well and the intended recipient was left ruing what might have been.
Modena were close to putting the equaliser away after 30 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to
M. Frâncu in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line.
Halftime score was 1 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to Modena, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
With 52 minutes played,
E. Hadad came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Modena.
With 68 minutes played,
L. Ambatllé of Modena fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Modena's
M. Frâncu was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes.
D. Jovanović was given a chance to change things around.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 81 minute mark, Modena's
G. Garnys hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
Coming through the middle
M. Enyego almost scored the equaliser for Modena after 82 minutes, but
A. Bozga made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
83 minutes into the game,
G. Ruïch finished off a Tudelano left wing counterattack, making the score 2 - 0.
Modena had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.
J. Flodman performed admirably for Tudelano.
Ü. Sarmaşık was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Modena player was without a doubt
D. Jovanović.
On the other hand,
J. Galeano's play was disheartening.
The match ends 2 - 0.
