(393288658)

18-07-2012 10.50
Dark skies made the crowd of 2043 at
böisi-arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Lassi Doe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Davide Del Bufalo and
Sebastian Ştefan.
UNITED decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Yecora - Devorst, Dochev, Polach - Vana, Habaj, Pels, Garcin, Möllers - Ulmu, Lauxmann.
SSC started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Weiss - Vidè, Kempf, Oppel - Platzer, Friedrich, Soravia, Perlet, Roth - Zotti, Kraus.
SSC demonstrated their creative tactics on the field.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 5 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
G. Lauxmann, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
With 15 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
H. Friedrich needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
UNITED solidified their lead at the 16 minute mark, as
L. Möllers dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
By now, the players in UNITED felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
With 29 minutes played, UNITED put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
E. Garcin, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
G. Lauxmann of UNITED was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
UNITED managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when
A. Ulmu cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
Halftime score was 4 - 0.
UNITED had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.
A bit later, SSC's
A. Roth easily reduced the lead to 4 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
J. Pels got himself booked. The manager of UNITED was not happy.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as UNITED scored another to make it 5 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
E. Garcin after 70 minutes.
UNITED's
A. Ulmu swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by UNITED, with 59 percent of the ball.
UNITED's top performer was clearly
E. Garcin.
L. Yecora turned in a dismal performance, however.
SSC's best player was
J. Kraus.
R. Weiss on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 1.
