Romanius 1 - 1 Vibonver (393292948)

Due to an all-day shower, 2956 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Hirschgarten Arena. Gerhard Turan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Denis Sibikin and Franck Eskerod. Romanius had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Vibonver decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players had been chosen: Casali - Lenskens, Scurati, Daukšts, Valderramal - Piñoy, Bajagić, Vişoiu, Chakroun, Szöllősi - 斯明 (Siming).

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Vibonver. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Vibonver's 施. 斯明 (Siming) after 2 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. As I. Valderramal had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Vibonver player a red card without batting an eyelid. P. Niederhagen got a fingertip on B. Szöllősi's shot from the left 31 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Romanius claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

A. Lenskens behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 76 minutes as he gave the ball away to M. Romero. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Romanius, but M. Walzer's shot went over the bar. A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 81 minutes into the match, and M. Romero was able to score, taking the scoreline to 1 - 1. Some great play up the middle by Romanius led to a chance for P. Nalvarte to score after 82 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Vibonver almost scored after a swift counterattack 83 minutes into the game, but 施. 斯明 (Siming) put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Thighs bulging, S. Vişoiu charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Romero from Romanius a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 89 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of Vibonver, as S. Bajagić left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. D. Teuşan took his place on the field. Romanius had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

T. Karinen performed admirably for Romanius. P. Niederhagen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Vibonver player was without a doubt S. Chakroun. G. Daukšts turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
